Annual dues include the cost of attending the Spring and Fall conferences.

New Membership:

To be a member of UMAA, you must be a Utah licensed attorney who:

  • Is a non-elected employee of a municipality;
  • Is a city or town attorney of a municipality; 
  • Their majority legal practice is dedicated to representing or advising cities, towns, or local government official and who do not individually or through their law firm or employer represent individuals or entities whose interests are adverse to cities, towns, or local government officials; or
  • Works for a nonprofit entity that legislates for cities, towns, and local government officials.

To qualify for emeritus status, you must have been a member of UMAA for at least 10 years, with the 5 years preceding retirement as a municipal attorney, and are retired from the practice of law.  "Retired" is defined as receiving less than 20 hours of paid work a month (on average).

Membership Renewal:

***Members planning to attend the Spring or Fall Conferences MUST complete their membership registration prior to registering for the Conference***  

To renew your membership, login to your account, select "edit profile" or "view profile" and select the "renew" button.

If you are unable to remember your password, use the forgot password link or contact a member of the Board to reset it.  Please do not create a duplicate account.
